Right, so first, look up on frame/shit tests on the main sub. You can’t let people get under your skin so easy.

Memories some shit test responses- these will be your training wheels for now. Look up shit test on asktrp and trp and see what kind of responses they use for each test.

You will notice that some of the best responses are short, succinct and have some plausible deniability: where the reader must infer something in order to get the full meaning of what has been said.

Every once in while, pick a random object by you and make up up all the possible uses you can for it, doesn’t matter if their realistic or not. It’ll help train your brain to process abstract thoughts and help you tie threads between ideas.

you have to get better at being in the moment. Being able to quickly understand whatever reality is being created by someone. For instance I work with a young girl who's constantly shit testing me, but she's not very good at it. She walked up to me the other day and said

Her- "You're really weird." (weird=bad)

Me- "That's what makes me so interesting." (flipping the frame "weird=bad" to "weird=good" you can simplify a lot of shit tests to them saying something you are/do is "bad" so you just have to flip the frame or use AA)

Her- "Nah it..."

Me- "Why? Do you hang out with boring people or something?" (flipped it on her because "weird=good" after all, while ignoring her attempt to control the frame)

The rest of the conversation was her qualifying herself to me, trying to tell me all the cool stuff she does etc etc. You have to identify what their frame is and reject it with your own. I'll give you another example that happened years ago and was the first time I remember making a choice to reject someone's frame.

I was setting up Dolphin emulator on my PC so my friends and I could play Super Smash Bros. and as I started up my computer my VPN service launched. A witty tech savy friend of mine chimed in "Oh, you use a VPN?" with an apparent suspicious tone. My gut reaction was to justifying having one because it's a common sense measure to have, but I recognized how his comment made me feel and I paused for a moment. This pause gave me the time to mentally progress through my argument to him and realize that he absolutely knew it was common sense to use one. So I incredulously responded "Ya, you don't?" and he was speechless. He was so used to my BPed self explaining myself all the time that he didn't know how to react to me making a fool out of him.

Stand up and books? I listen to the audio from comedy shows all the time ie when i’m on the train, driving or getting dressed. Create your own comedy style. Be unique to stand out.

Learn about people, when I worked with other people I knew most of their lives. If they came at me I would go for the kill, ruthlessly. Most people didn’t like me very much after making fun of dead kids and the like though so be mindful, the job didn’t matter to me like it does to you.

It only comes with experience. I was pretty bad at it but then when I started college, my roommate and I constantly gave each other shit about our moms and sisters. Eventually coming up with witty responses became quite natural. For shit tests, if I don't have a response ready, I'll just say nothing and give her a look as if she were a child acting silly.

To start, be aggressive.

It'll help you push through your own boundaries whether that's due to fear, or shyness, or whatever. For example, if someone calls you a fatass, you could respond with, "Go fuck yourself."

As you become comfortable with talking back, your mind will loosen up, and you'll give less fucks, as you realize that, in certain cases, it's okay to mouth off a bit sometimes.

Over time, this will automatically spur your creative faculties to come up with better responses, and you'll get better at talking shit.
