Seriously, how does anyone make friends? I chat to people and make small talk with people I meet whenever possible but not one ever wants to see me outside of work or where I met them in the first place (gym, shop or whatever).

Are sites like meetup any good? Are the people there in the same boat as I am or will everyone know I'm just a lonely saddo no one likes?
