You don't larp as a man. You 'man up', if that even means anything, because you have bills to pay and / or mouths to feed.

If you don't have rent/mortgage to make at 25 (ie you live at home), yeah people won't view you as a man. Is that the issue or is it something else?

People say don't take life too seriously notice that "too" there . You still have to take it somewhat seriously because not being taken serious is DANGEROUS as a man. You don't want that. You want to be able to assert yourself in life so nobody walks all over you. A big one is to stop laughing at your jokes even it a joke BOMBS keep it silent, keep it cool.

Be slightly more serious, have a strong masculine frame, no over the top gestures.

Hey man I'm the same age as you and ran into the same problems. One big problem I had in the workplace was that I was too "goofy"/high energy and people wouldn't take my opinion seriously or think I was just joking around. In addition not having a strong backbone or boundaries or being too pleasing gives people an unconscious signal that they can talk down to you or not take you seriously.

What I found that helped was to speak less (doesn't mean to be a mute but don't gossip or blabber about some random thing just so you can hear yourself talk), Also take yourself more seriously and stand up for yourself when someone mistreats you (and trust me if you're a go with the flow kinda guy you'll tend things slide - but don't!). Also a quick fix is changing your appearance like cutting your hair if it's super long or growing a beard if you are able to. You'll find people respond to you differently

Throw yourself into the fire.

Meaning do shit that you know will suck in the moment but will make you a stronger man.
