A lot of women ask this question as a sort of qualifier - how much money do you make?

To steer the question away from this, I've been answering in one of two ways:

1) I'm a male stripper or some other sarcastic responsoe 2) I do lots of things. Just today I went on a bike ride....

The first one is hit or miss. The second one was worked well - have gotten to get a conversation going and in most cases the occupation was never brought up again.

How do you typically handle this question?
