Let's take The art of seduction as an example. It took me about 10 hours total to read the book. Then I revised the archetypes, chose which one fit me and tried it out for about a week. Then I spent a few weeks trying to loosely apply the steps detailed in the book but found that they pretty much have to be at your fingertips for you to use them completely.

So it took me about 2.5 to internalize the book more or less. My progress is really slow this way.

The other problem I run into is if I read a book and then I read another too I forget the first one I read. I don't literally forget the information but I can't really apply all three books when I'm socializing.

So how do you speed up the process of reading and internalizing the books recommended here? How often do you read book? How much time do you spend with each one? Do you find yourself coming back and revising the material after a considerable amount of time has passed?
