she is chatting with you like you're one of her Girlfriends (or: are you her gay best friend?) choices:

1) she's ignorant of what she's saying (not likely)

2) she's dreading you (quite well it seems)

two of my wife's grown (mom aged) friends are /really/ into celeb shit (ie: they fly to LA and go to these oscar parties) and are constantly texting my wife celeb gossip sites, links, articles, and "isn't XYZ soo hot! I'd leave my family for him"

many years ago when my wife was more responsove to this crap it would bother me, then I realized, how fucking sad they must be. So once, I mentioned that: "your friends sound pathetic and desperate, they couldn't land (brad pitt, et al) if they met him wearing knee pads and a lobster bib" she LOL'd uncomfortably and verbalized, "it is kinda pathetic, isn't it?" She used to go to local oscar parties with them (held in big theaters in the city) and stopped that a few years ago, right around the time of my verbalized judgement (note of them, not her), hmmm.

so i didn't say shit on what she should/shouldn't do, I just pointed out how lame her GF's were acting and by implication, she was as well.

She watched the Oscars last night and conveniently I was at the gym, then out with male friends after my gym session (she did txt near the end of her show: "what time are you getting home?" me: "I'll see you in the morning"). So i have no idea, nor care or worry about which unattainable vapid rich soyboy they texted about. I wasn't out angry or butt-hurt, I just had other plans last night. I have no interest in fawning over either gender on these shows.
