Making friends is just about being around the same people consistently. That's why we make friends in school. So find a hobby where you will meet the same guys over and over again. Like a team sport.

The book How to Win Friends and Influence People is a prolly a book you might want to read.

And find a hobby. Gain value. No one is gonna want to be friends with someone who brings nothing to the table

I have some information from my Social Psychology lectures, that shows what increases liking and hence helps you to build a friendship.

You can remember it in this Terms: PRO/FA/SI = PROFASI

Pro= Proximity: The best single predictor of whether two people will be friends is how far apart they live, due to easy availability, lower cost in terms of money and time, cognitive dissonance pressure to like those with whom we must associate

Fa= Familiarity: The mere exposure effect: simply being exposed to a person tends to increase liking for it, except you are perceived as a negative Person, so it's important to maintain a positive outlook, otherwise it won't increase liking. (too much exposure can lead to boredom)

Si= Similarity: We like others who are similar to us in attitudes, interests, values, background & personality.

You can find similar others, when you join a club you like most and are passionate about or through shared environmental factors, that lead people with similar attitudes for instance students attending religious college may all have fairly similar views about religion

shared activities and projects.. even if it's as basic as getting stoned together.. guys will rarely want to just sit around and talk about their feelings forever, eventually you gotta start doing something
