In this case I’m talking about a big tribal tattoo I have on my forearm. I’m cringing just typing that. I had it done 9 years ago when I was 18 on a party trip abroad.

I liked it for a while, and it doesn’t look bad, it’s well done at a high standard studio, but it’s a fucking tribal. And now at 27 you’d expect I knew how to own my shit, which I do for the most part. But this one I just can’t.

Some random guy at a party a couple years ago said something while passing by like “I thought about getting a tribal once” I asked him if he got it, he laughed and gave me this confrontational look and went no I’m not stupid. It was the first time someone called me out on it and I was taken aback and didn’t have a good reply. I said good for you and moved on to other people.

It was easy then because it was a party and there were lots of other people there so I didn’t have to come with clever comebacks or engage him further. But I sometimes think what the hell do I respond with if it’s someone I have to engage in conversation with? New coworker/friends of friends etc.
