I was getting bored/annoyed from talking to a chick who was being so surface-level and basic and it was obvious af that they were trying to use dread game on me or test me or some other weird shit, so I literally turned off my phone text notifications and stopped trying to "respond late" or any of that time-wasting bs. I focused on my priorities and ignored texts for the day. I'm honestly at 0 fucks at this point and so I typed some stupid ass horny af music quote and spelled it completely wrong and still chose to send it and thought if she gets turned off then let the chips fall where they may. She responds right away but puts on this facade of not getting the sexual entendre of what I'm saying and I'm just like can't be assed at this point so I straight up make a half comment and don't finish and plan on ghosting her because I realize she's a time sink. Lo and behold, I don't touch my texts until the evening of the next day and I see that she's sending text multiple times throughout the day to get the the same validation I was giving her in the beginning. I still can't be assed honestly.

But this is the part that's fucking me up. When I dreaded her, it's like I kind of got a sick pleasure out of it? Making someone seek validation from me and emotionally dependent on me in a fucked up way gave me a feeling of power and like I finally pieced them together and know how they function and what buttons to push. It also made me less interested in her. This is concerning because I can see this reaching narcissism territory, especially when it applies to more serious situations like a relationship. How do you check yourself when this happens? I want to be assertive not abusive/narcissistic.
