The majority of YouTube is like that. With cutesy animations over-simplifying deep concepts. Like that retarded Crash Course series or ASAPsciene. I hate cutesy animations, I believe it hinders ones ability to learn and understand a concept rather than make it easier to understand. People think they know something after they watch that and they don't actually have to do any work, like reading more in depth. The problem with the YouTube cutesy animations is it tries to explain something deep as an ocean but with the depth of a pond. It's extremely detrimental. What's worse is that it gives the illusion of learning. That's why you get these self-proclaimed experts out there who watch these little snippets and think they truly "understand" what they are talking about. Once you dig a little deeper and question their knowledge on say Biology/Chemistry/Computer Science you see all they did was watch a few of these videos and think of themselves as experts. These videos breed arrogance/ignorance and know-it-all types.
