Watch this if you want to see something wild. There are new discoveries being made regarding the potential of our bodies and minds. Cold immersion along with practiced breathing is thought to change blood PH levels, increase positive immune response, and balance cytokines.

This guy has done studies at universities to corroborate this stuff and he'll be doing a study at Harvard soon.

Casual cold showers at home, though, might still give you these benefits, in addition to the things people mention in this thread. The main thing they do for me is lower anxiety throughout the day. Last week the trailer fell off my truck while driving 60 on the highway. That would have freaked me out three years ago. Instead, I mentally shrugged and hoped that it didn't hit anybody as I found an exit to turn around. No panic, no fear, every morning I overcome something uncomfortable and I'm more resilient.

I fucking hate cold showers. I do it because if I can push myself to take thirty seconds of bullshit, I can push myself to do something bigger, like say approaching girls.

I just started doing this 2 weeks ago -

I feel a little more energetic

I'm getting a lot fewer zits on my hairy back

I damn sure wake up when I get in

I no longer spend 20 minutes in the shower

I feel more disciplined

I just started my rebuilding program as a whole, so how much it's the cold showers and not other factors, I don't know. I feel like it helps, fwiw.

You step under it an are instantly awake. Shrugging off the warm blanket of sleep is difficult. An ice-cold shower rips it off you and gets you ready to face the day.

Also, you won't spend longer than necessary in there.

I tend to start the water off hot (just above comfortable), wash and rinse, and then just blast it on cold for thirty seconds at the end. You really want to get out of the shower after that.

Oh, and occasionally a friend or plate will forget to turn it back up and you get serenaded by a chorus of "OHMYGODTHATSSOCOLDOHMYGODWHYAAAH"

This is what I've heard about cold showers (take it for what it's worth).

Kickstarts your metabolism
Better for skin & hair (especially during winter)
Wakes you up easier than coffee
Shocks your system feeling rejuvenated
Helps sore muscles post workout
Lowers cortisol levels
Increases testosterone

Again, take all of this for a grain of salt. The only sure thing I know will happen from taking a cold shower is your dick inverting to the size of a tic tac.

Cold showers and doing NoFap are not gonna give you superpowers.

I believe the reason that I was told was that hot showers dry out your skin. And this, I can confirm through personal experience.
