There was a post on Reddit of a person who went through the same thing. It was on the /askreddit forum if I remember correctly. Search it out when you have time.

He would make two copies of any document he had for proof. Blind CC all emails to himself. Never be alone with the person and always have someone credible around to back up any statements he said. Might want to invest in a recorder. Many free apps for your phone out there.

Other than self protection kill her with kindness. Be kind and sociable to everyone in the office. Be agreeable. You're never going to change this damaged person so avoid at all costs. Your efforts are going to feel fruitless until you've vindicated and it could take months before that happens. In the mean time look for new employment. You're a nobody at a firm and will be replaced if you make waves. Lift weights to get that frustration out and use mindful meditation to control your thoughts and reactions to them.

Personally I've been through this twice and looking back I should've gotten another job pumping gas and suffered being poor until I found new work in my field. Only you know if this is an option. Best of luck to you my friend.

Why has this psycho bitch even access to your docs?

Whatever, don't focus on her, focus on yourself. Keep doing a good job and create synergy with your other co workers so they know who and what you are.

Talk to a colleague you can trust. Slowly exclude that bitch out of every social interaction.

If she tries to make you look bad while you're in an interaction with someone people will notice, that she always tries to blame and bully you. Which makes her look bad ---> people won't pay attention to her stupid shit anymore.

No it's not common. Look for work elsewhere in the meantime but you should write a concise list of the things she is doing and forward it to a partner at the law firm saying you are concerned about the situation.
