I’ve seen stoicism talked about a lot on this sub, but recently I’ve seen a lot of people say it isn’t practical/realistic to behave this way in real life. In movies/TV we see examples of stoic men like Clint Eastwood and Don Draper in Mad Men. These men speak very little and don’t show a lot of emotion in general. On the other hand, there are examples like Hank Moody in Californication, who doesn’t take anything seriously and has a lighthearted, funny attitude. Is being stoic really effective in the real world when talking to girls and interacting with people in general? I feel like most people will think you’re boring when you have that type of demeanor. Girls and people in general are attracted to how you make them feel so wouldn’t it be better to have a lighthearted, funny, and laid back vibe than a serious and stoic one? More like Roger Sterling and less like Don Draper.
