He cited an example. His friend who has a Female best friend used to pubically give her gifts and be nice etc.

This is evidence of beta oneitis orbiter behavior. None of which is attractive to anyone.

What you observe is true. Giving a girl some gifts will make you more valuable to others. But you got the mechanics wrong.
Those probably girls aren't that materialistic to be giggling wanting gifts. That guy raised his smv doing that.

He shows he's doing well, he has money to spare;
His female best friend gives him social proof, status, and there is a good chance that she acts in a way (slightly flirtatious towards him) that gives him pre selection as well. Since he doesn't lose his shit when she does it, he shows he's experienced, and increases pre selection.

That's nonsense. Specific displays of status and power do work but what works against you is looking like a chump a woman can exploit, has exploited.

What actually happened is getting out of the shower the dude is attractive enough to the women and nothing he said or gift he gave even mattered.
