I say the truth. Make sure to be positive. Good vibes. You don't wanna sound like you're negative about your job and where you're going. Or with anything really. You want to bring warmth and fun and not complain about shit.

If you wanna lie about being a lawyer to get laid. Go for it. TRP is amoral. Bitches love the status that comes with bragging to her friends she is dating a lawyer.

But personally I would never do that to myself. It would make me feel less of a man by not owning who I am.

It also depends on the situation. Where were you both when she asked? If she's just met you, and you're at a club - lie but in a funny obvious way, be playful - part of teasing and being fun. If you're at a business conference - maybe truth straight away. You have to have social awareness. But if you're going to lie, make it obvious you're just having fun. NOT that you're ashamed of your job. So when you do tell her - be positive.
