With all the game and non-verbals I've changed and learnt about, any time my family members get close while talking now I get REALLY uncomfortable and laugh to diffuse tension. With friends I can manage it and they can deal with that tension themselves, and with randoms idc. It's just with family. Like I can keep eye contact and be chill and confident and relaxed with no issues, but it's because I've conditioned myself to keep the pressure and keep eye contact, it seeps into ALL my interactions. With family I really try to avoid them getting too close when we're talking with eye contact. Not in a weird way, like I hug my family and get close with no issues. I'm comfortable in my skin. It's just when we're talking. Because you know how there's a distance when you're talking with a chick where the vibe turns sexual? Imagine two people close as fuck with intense eye contact while talking. Like intimate distance. Doing this with girls has made it so that when I'm around family I have to find ways to avoid that distance or avoid the strong eye contact at that distance. Make sense?
