I'm a relatively novice lifter and I've been doing SL5x5, probably the most recommend routine in fittit, for the last month and a 1/2 very consistently, haven't missed a workout. It's going pretty solid at the moment, my squat is up at 72.5kg which is huge considering the bar was pretty heavy at first.

I'll preface with personal information. I'm 16, pretty much 5'8 (172cm), about 60kg (132lbs) and, as you may be able to guess, I'm bulking with a plan that GLO gave me. I actually asked a question very similar to this to GLO over skype after I consulted him, but I haven't got a response as of yet and I want to start my potential new program on Monday so I'd like responses relatively quickly.

Anyway, onto the post. The views on the fittit sub seem to be very split. There are a lot of people saying 'If you want to gain muscle, aren't planning on competing in powerlifting and don't care how much you squat, there's no reason for you to be doing SS or SL' and there is a lot of people saying that you should squeeze every last gain out of SS/SL before you move on to another more hypertrophy orientated program.

I'd like to know any advice that you guys have because you're a lot less likely to be bias than the fittit lot I believe, and you know the goals that we're all working towards. If I did switch program, it would certainly be to either PHUL or PHAT. This is because I still want to increase my strength and certainly don't want to go full BB program yet, but I still want to get lots of hypertrophy as the primary aim, 'cus y'know wanna be alpha.

I was wondering what ya'll think.

TL;DR: Me, 1 1/2 months SL5x5. What are your thoughts on SS/SL as a novice (me) when the main aim is hypertrophy (TRP style, gainz)? Is there a point I should reach on these programs before I move onto a more hypertrophy orientated program, probably PHUL (I like PHAT but too much volume for a novice).
