An issue arose (bullshit talk/gossip from gfs mother about me in our common circle), I stated that this is not a good thing because reputation, mine I don't really care about (because since after all this was pure BS), but theirs (it's an ungracious thing to do), I told her to think about it and also stated the solution. Cue, nuclear reaction from her, and god damnit, first time I actually experienced, from her, a womans inability to have a clear, rational discussion.
And I fucked up, played right into that shit, got emotional (mad as hell), called her an idiot (because WTF there was ad hominems, strawmen, no true scotsman and everyfuckingthing else in the book) and simply left the scene. In hindsight, I shouldn't have let that get to me, should've been the better man so to speak. But fuck, shit happens. Giant mental note, don't ever again.
Anyways, what's happened has happened, now what would be a good way to "get back on track"? Should I call, and calmly excuse for my behaviour say what I wanted to say and end the issue, do I "fess up"? Or do I pretend as if this never happened? Other ideas?
Personally, with a guy, I'd rationally say that - shit I lost my composure, my bad, let's continue.
With women... fuck, any ideas?
