With the pandemic, some people are taking it on the chin employment wise. It's hard. So being on unemployment isn't necessarily a killer all on it's own right now. Question is - is she still looking and trying to find new work? What is she willing to do? Is she willing to change roles? Find something in a new field? Or is she just sitting at home feeling sorry for herself and getting used to being a couch potato?

In terms of taking care of herself - what is she not doing? Good diet? Working out to stay fit? Or letting herself get on the expressway to the wall?

I've been there, and I can tell you, it doesn't get better. A woman in a bad spot but with the mental toughness to slog through it, she'll do it. She won't give up. A woman in a bad spot that just gives up...she generally won't change unless she's got to. If there's a man to offload her own responsibilities to, she will, and she'll get mad at him and treat him like shit when he doesn't meet her every entitled expectation.

You're the only one that truly knows and can evaluate what you're dealing with, but if she's gonna turn into a boat anchor around your neck holding you back, cut her loose now and free yourself up to find a better woman.

Somewhat similar thing happened to me recently. She wasn't LTR but FWB that I was seriously considering promoting. Lost her job during the pandemic which in of itself is fine except she wasn't laid off but fired. She worked in food service and got fired because her job had a rule about not attending gatherings greater than 10 people and she went to a house party a week later. Afterwards, she showed absolutely no effort or motivation to find a new one or do anything other than getting drunk with her friends. She'd complain to me about how everything sucks yada yada but whenever she was free it was to either have happy hour with the girls or take trips with her covid stimulus money to party with her friends. She was putting on weight and eventually I had enough and cut it off about 3 weeks ago. I just couldn't put up with it anymore and knew I was wasting my time. I work 45-60hrs per week in a high stress job while also studying for my professional certifications and it was obvious to me this girl would in no way be a good compliment to that.
