LTR with Doctor

My ex was a doctor. LAST thing you want to do is to sit there while she "gives report" about her patients and what happened. It becomes never ending and you can't help. If you're not a doc, she's like "well, you can't really know what it's like" - if you ARE a doc, she's like "Well, I would have done it differently" . You don't talk about your work to her and she shouldn't talk about her work to you. This goes for EVERY job, but definitely for lady docs, teachers, social workers, counselors, nurses, emt's, cops - any of the "helping" professions - it's a bottomless pit - don't get sucked into it.

Which brings me to my next point - on a deeper note - WHY do you care? I could take you to every hospital in every city and you would be guaranteed to see some "fucked up things" - people go to hospitals when they are sick or injured, not when they are feelin great and happy.
Show her you care by being the bright spot in her life - let her bitch about the cold world and all of it's cruelties to her friends.
Ignore this advice at your own peril.

Remember the analogy where men are the rocks of the relationship? Be her rock. In situations like this, David Deida (way of superior man) recommends giving women a long hug when they're stressed or feeling bad.

This is a comfort test situation. Don't let what she says affect you. Give her a long hug, let her know your the rock, and then move on with the evening.

Be a fun escape , the more stressed and serious a womans work life is the more I think they tend to value having someone that provides a fun and exciting spark that helps them shift their brain away from that part of their life. how is a bit trickier but I'd suggest on bad days having a place or situation you two can escape too . Go somewhere and dance , go somewhere that you can curl up with her and listen to music , granted it depends on what you like and what you think would pull her out of her head but that's the goal . To pull her mind away from what it's populated with the other 10 hours of the day .

Who gives a fuck? You haven't even fucked her for six to twelve months but are already planning on becoming her counselor?

Everybody got his fucking problems and none of them should be your business unless you are in aserious relationship which won't be the case for a very long time, unless you can't wait to throw away your commitment because you are a needy mofo.
