But I pick 'em up unless there's a strong reason to meet someplace.

I'm not from the south. I'm from the northwest. I choose to meet them there (and pick a place close to where they or I live). That way if things aren't going well, or the girl is boring, I can bounce easily and quickly.

I've heard have her come to your place first so you'll have to return there later. Best suited if you live near the 1st date location like a bar. But picking her up sounds like a good option too if that's the norm.
