Tl;dr I joined the Marines after dropping out of college because I was desperate and bored with my life. I joined the infantry and quickly realized that garrison/peacetime military sucks. I feel like I'm going to waste the next 4 years not progress at all in terms of financial and personal growth. I feel like a fucking pussy wanting to get out and go back to my normal life, but it honestly feels like prison sometimes. 4 years in a field that doesn't promote seems like a dead end. Would you guys recommend getting out with a medical discharge for depression or possibly an administrative seperation for failure to adapt or something worse? Long term, it looks bad on my resume and background check, but I'll never involve myself with the government or feds ever again because of this experience. I have a couch to stay on and my family will probably think I'm a pussy, but whatever. Unless we're in a war, the fuck fuck games are stupid as fuck.

This isn't really a post about women, but alot of young guys think the military is an escape. It's not. Don't join. You'll only run away from your problems. It won't make you alpha or whatever the fuck. I wanted to get a take from some of the veterans on the sub on where I should steer my life at the moment.

Thanks
