In the book, Manson stated "When you lavish gifts and praise onto a woman who has not done anything to earn it, you are sub-communicating a desperate need for her attention and validation -- a willingness to sacrifice your self-respect and wealth to win over her affection. It demonstrates a willingness to alter yourself for her to greater degrees than she’s willing to alter herself for you. Remember, this is the definition of neediness and being unattractive."

Later in the book, he describes how he approached a women and the first thing he said was "Hey, you're extremely beautiful so I just had to come and say hi".
