Hey all,
I used to have a very social and outgoing personality, but the last two years due to a family illness I became dependent on alcohol. This in turn, made me dependent on alcohol to socialize. I'm a college student in a college town, and while I'm able to go to my classes and research and do well, I do not socialize or speak to anyone or make effort. I wait until night when I go out with the same group of friends to get drunk and really do nothing productive or worth doing.
I feel very stagnant and stuck in a rut. I have lost a lot of my personality, or it is very rusty. I want to get back in shape and refocus myself, but I'm having trouble finding passion inside myself to fuel the fire.
I don't seem to have any real hobby as my school/work take up most of my time, and when I'm not doing that, I want to go out and drink and destress.
How would you guys remake yourself? Please give me all the suggestions you can. Any good books I can read? Good authors/mentors to follow?
I don't want to throw my life away. I want to be happy, I've just been stuck in this stagnant place for the last year that I'm having a lot of trouble getting out of. I don't feel like I've grown or experienced much the last year due to my situation, and I want to learn and learn faster
