Living in a solid blue state, rationale and logic weren't sufficient to inform my parents about the fact that I'm writing in someone else that isn't Hillary Clinton. I tell them everything I can to tell them my vote doesn't mean shit because of the electoral college and swing states but they just love sticking their head in the sand and pretending as if all is good.

The case is exacerbated by my mother who just accuses me of ignorance and naiveness, never allowing me to discuss my rational viewpoint of how 1 single vote in a solid blue state won't change the course of American history. She states that it's important for me to vote Hillary so Trump won't win. She accuses me of being an illogical person who still isn't mature, all while she never lets me finish my point and begins name calling. Once I begin to name call back to her in an attempt to show how dumb she sounds (she isn't American, she doesn't know how the political process works at all), it's a case of the kettle meeting the pot. Being rational men, has anyone else been in this dilemma as well?
