Don't do things with the only purpose of showing dominance. Do the right thing, and be dominant about it.

Why would you pay for her food, has she earned it? She doesn't get a free meal just for having a pretty face. If she can't accept that, she's almost certainly more trouble than she's worth.

And remember abundance. If this girl doesn't like you doing the right thing, there's plenty more just waiting to meet you.

I've thought a lot about this, done my research, both intellectually and in the field. Just pay. If she says she'll pay for herself, let her or insist on paying. Whatever suits the girl or mood.

Keep it simple.

If you can't afford $50, you CANT afford a girlfriend and all the bullshit expenses that come with most women.

How old are you?

If she says "You're cheap." then dump her. You don't need gold diggers. As far as she laughing behind your back, you should not care. What are you - an ATM?

20y old's in retail are broke. You can't really expect them to pay much. You can expect them to reciprocate by preparing a meal at home and you bring the wine/booze (this is advice from about 50 years ago). If you go out, you should expect to pay the bill - for practical reasons. Keep it cheap and simple.
