I need some help, and TRP seems like a pretty no bullshit kind of place so here goes. 38, lots of dating experience, broken up for about 2 months, generally no issues attracting women.

Had this woman as a plate for a while. I thought she was pretty great so over time I let the other plates drop off one by one and it got pretty serious. As in fell in love and all that. Shes a pretty broken woman, all kinds of commitment/abandonment issues, among others. Totally missed the red flags - and then she left me out of the blue. Sometimes you win sometimes you learn.

Im not stranger to love lost and breakups. I usually bounce back quick from breakups and get back into it. I went no contact with her, I currently have a few plates (with a favorite), and have also had a few one night stands, and others Im chatting up and flirting with. The problem is its not working this time - AT ALL WHATSOEVER.

I fully recognize with my logical side I need to get over it and my mental frame is piss poor. But I still think about this woman every single day. The other women are not getting my mind off it. I even think about the ex sometimes when Im laying the new ones.

Im hitting the gym, taking up painting, bettering myself, etc. Nothing seems to be helping, Im stuck in a loop and know its unhealthy. Ive even thought about trying to contact her to say.. I don't know, something stupid she wont even care about and will make me feel worse (I didn't though thankfully).

Is this something I just need to ride out and time will heal? Or is there something else proactive I can do to better myself and improve my emotional well being? (Ive even tried a therapist and it was only marginally useful).

I have read the following advice but it does not seem to be helping: "She's not being receptive, she's the one that got away, how do I get back at her? You don't. Move on. Abundance mentality solves all these problems."
