I'm currently suffering from major anxiety and depression, and am attempting to better myself with lifting. I'm about two months in so far, though I've lifted on and off in the past. It's not really been going well the past few weeks. I'll show up to the gym and start my first lift, but by this point I'll be panicking about failing a rep or my form not being perfect or any number of reasons. Soon, I'll be in full panic mode with all the symptoms, and one of those symptoms is I feel all the energy and strength drain from my body. I completely lose my body-mind connection, and I'll start struggling with even warmups sometimes. I'm never able to fight it off. I usually end up doing a few very light sets with my main lift and then go home, hating myself.

The advice of "Go to the gym even when you don't feel like it, start working, and you'll get in a rhythm" doesn't apply to me. I show up at the gym every time and at least start lifting, but 3 out of 4 workouts end in a panic attack. Please help me get over being a pussy so I can set PRs again. This is the number one obstacle preventing my development.

Side note: I stopped drinking preworkout before lifting, and it doesn't seem to help me. I also started supplementing with l theanine, which helps to ease the mental symptoms but not the physical ones.
