I was just wondering what exactly is taking place when girls do this and how should I approach it in the future.

You're escalating too quickly and not sparking her attraction switches. You need to calibrate your game with your plates.

Back off. Do a back turn. Do something else---go up get a drink, act like nothing's wrong. Try again. If you get it a second time find a way to wrap up the evening. If you get this a second time stop spending so much time with them until they come around.

Some girls need more comfort, some need more attraction. If you're getting Last Minute Resistance back off and then wait for her to re-engage. The idea is not to look flustered because that is a major turn off. Don't draw attention to it. Just make it seem like you don't care and you have other things to do---watch tv, listen to music, get up to get a drink., move away from her.

Read up on Last Minute Resistance. DO NOT force yourself on her or you'll be finding yourself in the back of a police car and worse.

They want to fuck, but they need plausible deniability so they can lie to themselves. They don't like the idea that they're a "slut."

You have a couple options to handle this. If they're not worth the effort, you can just remove your attention until they're ready to play ball. Then either they get in line, or they don't.

The other option is to game them more so they think things are progressing towards something of more substance. In other words, don't just go for the jugular. Invite them over to play cards, go for a scenic walk near your place, etc. Then escalate.

Ignore the tests. Keep going. Either that or get up and make some food/do a crossword puzzle.
