It isn’t even just the title to be king. Being a part of the royal family means being a part of the number one family in the UK. You’re connected to the best connections, live rent free in a larger than life home, and get paid for existing (though the royal family makes more for the government than they get).

They can literally go to any of the top schools, universities, and mingle with dukes and duchesses in castles riding horses and having cake delivered to them.

Instead, he chooses her and basically a common life. Logically it makes little sense. Rationally it seems like a sub-optimal play. Why not leverage on your circumstances, instead of foregoing everything? Maybe it’s because he is whipped by her, or maybe it’s just that he’s an idiot.

Harry is a never ending publicity fodder for Megan's public exposure. She knows it, and she knows there's no bad ending for her. Either he completely succumbs to her beta-izing him, and she keeps her publicity avenue, or he leaves her and she gets to play victim and spin how bad the whole royal family treated her. Either way - it's publicity and profile advertising for her that nothing else can compare to. (this is considering she's after the publicity first, and she's not after an actual healthy marriage and family of her own - selfish woman indeed!)

The marriage won't end well. And he's going to have some repair work with his bio-family to do when it falls apart and he's got no where else to turn.
