Women have been plating men since before the term was coined.

An FWB has a guy come over who licks her feet, calls her goddess and gives her head while she works.

The thing is that most women will get oneitis for their most alpha plate and try to secure commitment eventually. So unless (like my FWB) they are 'awake'/redpill, they are just going to follow their pussy tingles.

and by plating, do you mean 'cheating'? Or just riding CC?

It makes sense, I just never read it as them spinning plates, as that seems to be a male only RP term.

and by plating, do you mean 'cheating'? Or just riding CC?

Plating means no-strings-attached sexual relationship. When the relationship is over, the spinner does not mourn the loss of the plate. That's what I mean (in 2 sentences), and everyone means, when they say plate.

A woman could cheat on someone with her plate. She could ride the CC with plates. These things aren't mutually exclusive.

I just never read it as them spinning plates, as that seems to be a male only RP term.

Plate is only the term we use because it helps you to remember the 'plate model'.

Women would mostly call them FWB's or fuckbuddies. Essentially the same thing, just different wording.

When someone asks me to describe my relationship with a plate, I say FWB or fuckbuddy or 'no-strings girlfriend'.

Nobody else knows what plate means (and I'm happy for it to stay that way).

thank you for the clear explanation. I appreciate it.

Women instinctively "plate" men like the instinctively BREATHE.

ANY woman who is an HB8 or up has at LEAST five plates. It's just that she may or may not be banging them.

They just may not look like plates to you because women want different things from men than men want from women.

Women get attention, resources, affirmation, and social status from men. The more hot, rich, attractive men they have around them, the higher their status is in the female hierarchy. The ones who are good at it can have 5 - 7 plates spinning and ALL of them will think that he's the center of her world. They may not even be aware that each other exist. But you can bet her besties know about EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

so if a girl is entertaining a guy with her time (not even sexually, just conversation) in return for say small gifts, coffees, meals) is that dude considered a plate? I ask that since you said "may or may not be banging them"

The Red Pill term is generally more "orbiters". Basically a guy that hovers around her, attending to her needs, giving her validation in exchange for the hope that she'll fuck them, but never actually does.

If you look at it as if men are the gateways to commitment, and women are the gateways to sex, then an orbiter is a man who gives a woman commitment without sex, and a plate is a woman who gives a man sex without commitment.

Women like orbiters because they make them feel good about themselves and they don't have to give anything back to reciprocate - and men like plates because they can fuck them without all the drama that comes with an LTR.

By my definition, above. But we recognize that men and women are DIFFERENT, and so we use different terminology. /u/vzuv has a valid point (below) and I think I'd like to withdraw my above statement. Instead, I'd say that by definition, women don't "plate." But the process of accumulating orbiters is similar: you pay JUST enough attention to keep them engaged at the level you want them, but you do not fully commit.

Yes, they call it friends with benefits.

Simple answer.
