Being socially calibrated is 90% non-verbal communication. It's not what you say, but what you don't say, how you say it, where you are looking when you say it, how far away from them you are, what your body language is, what the context is, etc.

Push-Pull isn't a tactic you deploy on girls in a bar. It is a fundamental truth in human behavior. Push-pull is used in advertising, sales, politics, business, all of it.

This is important because if you treat Push-Pull like some PUA hat trick that you only use on girls in certain situations you will completely miss the point. It will fly right over your head, you will not master it, and you will never reap the benefits of it.

Push & Pull is about making people want something.

First you push.. you let them know that there is something to be had. A party. An interesting story. A good deal on used tires. A tall, dark, mysterious stranger.

Then, once you have their attention and before they get bored and start paying attention to something else, you disengage them. Maybe all you do is turn 45 degrees to the left and start talking to their friend. Maybe you excuse yourself to the bathroom. Maybe you don't reply to their texts for a week and a half.

This polarizes your audience. Remember Always Be Closing. You got their attention, good. Now the ones that come back.. the ones that ask questions and contribute to the conversation.. the ones that respond to you with thrill and excitement.. those are the ones who are interested.

Do I have your attention? Good.

Are you interested in what I'm selling? I know you are because it's fuck or walk.

This cycle is repeated over and over again, forever, to keep people interested. Push-Pull is dread game. It's romance. It's teasing, flirting, spanking, whipping, fingers in the mouth and coffee in the morning. A foot rub in the middle of a crowded party and a cold shoulder when she's being a brat.

Push-pull is described in many other ways as well. In music it is timing. Gap and rhythm designed to make the listener want more. Etc. etc. Ad infinitum.

check the mystery method. Doesn't have push/pull "lines" per se but you can read all stages of game examples in that aspect.

for example:

opener (pull) + false time constraint (push)
DHV (pull) + neg (push)
bait - hook - reel (pull) - release (push)

It's everywhere.
