It is often told that it is good for us to approach other people and talk to them and it is very beneficial for our game.

I completely agree with this and I have tried it couple of time but one of the huge barriers I face doing so originates from the fact that:

This. Seems. Unnatural.

Sure if I am at a party I'll approach every single person, find out their names and move on to talk to other people because it is a social dynamic and that is what you are supposed to do. But let's say you're at the bus stop, or a bookstore or a restaurant, waiting for the bus, reading the summary of a book or enjoying a meal, Some random guy comes up to you and starts talking to you and tries to find out about your life and your personality and seal it with your phone number.

I mean the girls OBVIOUSLY know you're trying to fuck them in the long term. and if I was in the girls shoe, I would not want to be bothered by some random guy (attractive ones are welcome) and furthermore be talked into giving them my number. It just seems out of the normal social behaviours.

How would you go about overcoming this mindset because I find this to be the biggest barrier for me when it comes to picking up girls?
