A lot of these books come down to exposing yourself emotionally and becoming vulnerable around friends and love interests, but all of the literature on here seems to warn against becoming emotional. Models says that shit tests don't exist and that we should be genuine in our lives and interactions, but TRP preaches dark triad and manipulation. Even Stoic philosophy says emotions should be in control and mostly remain unexpressed.

My life experience says that TRP's cynical worldview is much more accurate. I was just looking for some thoughts on this. Perhaps this is too theoretical but I go back to college soon and I want to do approaches, but I want to do them with the right attitude. If I should be exposing myself emotionally ok, but if that's not effective then I don't want to do that. Thoughts?
