Set up a date, be assertive. Nothing to worry about to be honest.

....but I have the feeling if I text she’ll just flake.

Don't respond to her instantly, at least wait a few hours and if possible take twice the time she did. (take 2 days)

This is ridiculously stupid to text. Why are you putting the ball in her court?

Seriously, what did you expect she'd reply? Let's go through the scenarios:

"I'm going to xxx" -> you will be stalled
"I'm going to xxx, do you want to come with me?" -> very unlikely that she initiates after one year of no sex

So she texts that she doesn't have anything going on (which is basically the best scenario), and NOW you are posting this as a question?

Go tell her that you want to go to a bar/show/park/whatever and that you want her to join. What else would you possibly want to say? Imagine someone texting you "what's up" and then they never follow up on that. Wouldn't that be freaking weird?

Next time you are interested in meeting up with a girl, just TELL HER:

"Hey, what's up with you? I'm planning to check out bar whatever this weekend. I'd love you too join me."

Seriously, the amount of aspie self-blocking behavior in this sub is ridiculous. If you had spent even 2 hours on reading the material, you wouldn't have sent this lame text.

I like to run two different plays:

Let them chase you, let them always being the one to try to setup up a day/time.
Hit them up to meet, but do it last minute. 5PM on Thursday, hey come over tonight to chill! At that point either she has plans or not.

The days of calling on Wednesday for a Friday or Saturday night date are long gone.

Sounds like you were her only option. She's a plate and your her plate so who cares?

Set something up and if you get anything short of "yes" then just ignore.

If she wanted to smash she would answer you right away. She's probably found a guy she wants to date or be regular FWB with.

Unless by "plate" you mean girls you haven't had sex with yet, then that's a whole different story.

First mistake right here. Didn't bother reading the rest of your post.

Do not ask what her plans are, tell her what your plans are. Tell her the time and place and be there. Do whatever it is whether she shows or not.

Going to a pub/bar? Take a book or cold approach etc.

Asking what her plans are and then working around them shows that you're not a busy man, are able to change plans to suit her and that she is able to control the encounter.

This isn't what you want. I'm sure there is a texting 101 guide from Uncle Vas, I'll see if I can find it.

But this is TRP 101 tbh.

You texted an old plate out of the blue and she has a bf. Shit happens. Could be a shit test, just say something like "He's not invited. 7pm" and she'll either follow up or not.
