What are peoples opinions here about getting rain checked?

Speaking to a girl online for a while and asked her out last week.....she agreed and we were supposed to be meeting this week, but got rain checked at the weekend. She did ask if we could meet at the weekend but I had explained to her previously that I was busy. I cooled things off by saying no worries and it can be arranged later this week....she said she'd like that.

My initial feeling it holding off contact until she messages with a new time/plan?
