I exhibited a lot of TRP behavior before I knew about TRP. This landed me a comfortable 3 yr relationship.

Short version is I felt smothered, got bored and broke up with her. She fought it but I stayed firm.

Fast forward to a couple weeks later after some random hook-ups and letting loose. Realize I miss her, and it hits me like a ton of bricks. Try again with her - this time she breaks up with me and cuts off contact.

I begin slipping rapidly into beta-dom. THEN I discover TRP. I'm reading and reading and I totally get it - TRP is very naturally compatible with how I was already thinking anyway. But this experience of feeling lonely or whatever has knocked all the sense out of me, and while my head comprehends what I'm reading, I still have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach worried about having lost her.

I don't like what I'm becoming, but I feel like I am "rushing" swallowing TRP.

Any advice for dealing with a break-up that got the better of you, TRP style?

(I apologize, I realize this is dripping with beta and emotional crap that most of my friends would want to smack me for posting, but this seems like a pretty supportive community and I'm living alone abroad, pretty far from any sort of support network)
