I've been guilty of over-texting in the past and have definitely ruined my chances before with this bad, needy, habit. I've ended up as a text orbiter giving validation with conversation on a few occasions.

I think I'm starting to get the balance right but like a lot of the changes I'm making they feel counter intuitive and at times a little rude.

Here's a conversation from last night/this morning. Am I starting to hit the right note?

Just want to say I know one text conversation is a minor thing - but I find if my text game is off it tends to snowball into larger problems. Anyway here goes.

I hadn't text her for two days prior to this and I get this text late evening.

Her: 'Sup.'

Me: 'Recovering from this...' posts a video from rock concert I was at the night before

Her: 'Seems fun indeed.'

Me: 'I have bruises.'

Her: 'The sign of a good concert.'

Me: 'Good attitude.'

Her: 'I myself am good, thanks for asking.' (Sarcasm)

Me: 'It's not all about you (name).

Her: 'I'd like to think it's 50%.'

Me: 'More like 30%, I'm very high maintenance.'

Her: 'Hmmm...'

Went to bed at this point and didn't text back. The rest is from the next morning.

Me: 'You're so serious.'

Her: 'Yes and no.'

I don't reply, two hours pass.

Her: 'What does that even mean?'

That was now hours and ago and still haven't responded. I feel that this is about the right mix of bothering to respond, little bit of banter, short messages and hopefully drumming up a little bit of hamstering.

Thoughts?

EDIT#### - She has now triple texted me with no response.
