Regarding one's mission

It's important to have a goal in life, yes. But don't focus too much on that. This "misson in life" stuff is very specific to societies and cultures that promote egoism and social isolation. You have similar concepts elsewhere, but that's not what you've been asking for. Other people successfully live extremely happy lives without ever thinking about that. There is no basic human need for a mission in life, neither biological nor psychological. It's made up with the good intent to fill an otherwise meaningless life. A lot of people really benefit from it and thrive because of their mission in life. But that's no proof your wellbeing depends on it.

It's more important not to drift though life, helpless and without orientation. But sacrificing each and everything, especially the fun of social contacts and a family, to an idea you once had is not a guarantee for happiness. I know, that's not what everyone means by "mission in life", but that's what a lot of people take away from what is written here, please don't be one of them.

Take your time finding your goal, mission, whatever you call it. Don't rush it and don't expect to find it by going through a list of possibilities.
