Normally the answer would be obvious- 2 weeks notice.

In this case, MANY, MANY times, the boss and the owner have both told me “you better not leave. I’ve invested so much in you.” Even though they really haven’t. They’ve also praised me but never given me a raise despite my immediate supervisor recommending I get one on 3 separate occasions.

So the thing is- I need this last paycheck. I’ve already got a weeks worth of work done. So this would be the last week and then the next one would be a half paycheck.

Given the fact that they’ve really made me feel uncomfortable about leaving, it’s pretty dead right now, and the boss is a hot head who I’ve witnessed him firing people in an instant- I’m reluctant to give a 2 weeks. Even a 1 week.

I feel like he could fire me on the spot. Fine. I got a new job. BUT I need this last paycheck to assist with my recurring bills.

So I’m considering- giving a 1 week notice but even more I’m considering just saying FUCK this shit and just resign he day before I leave for my new job.

I would be burning my bridge, yes. But I’m moving to a new city. And if I ever come back here, the position I work is highly sought after. If needed I could go to a competitor easily. They were already trying to get me. The position I work, they couldn’t find ANYONE in Texas to do it. They interviewed SEVERAL people and ended up hiring from across the country.

So with this info- should I give them a notice at all?
