Shouldn't a vasectomy be practically mandatory if you can afford IVF?

From my understanding a vasectomy doesn't make you sterile, though if one day you want to have kids it will have to ve be done through in-vitro firtilization which is quite expensive. That's pretty much the only drawback of getting a vasectomy unless I'm missing something. Hell in fact men getting vasectomies en masse would solve quite a few societal issues.

Of course it's still an invasive procedure so if better alternatives (vasalgel?) become available that would be preferable.
