Simple question, if someone makes me snap, do i apologize for snapping at them?

first point of order. No one makes you do anything. Internalize that. Accept that. Make that your mantra. You choose your actions.

On that basis, apology is appropriate for those who you have wrong. And not the bullshit apologies, ohhh, I'm sorry if I offended you. Take responsibility for what you did. I'm sorry I spoke harshly towards you.

I always follow the TRP rule that apologies should be rare and special. That being sad, if you really snapped at someone and try didn't deserve it - make a point to apologize and move on. Also, if you can't remain calm in tense situations, I suggest you look at your life and stressors to prevent snaps from happening.

If you have a problem with someone, it should always be posed in a calm and constructive manner.

I snapped on a friend this week via text (another friend was in the message so he saw it too). The friend said sorry and it was not his intention to piss me off.

Reality was and is, I'm considering dropping him as a friend. I've never done that, but I have moved before and lost friends. Anyways, I just waited about 4 hours and replied "Cool"

So, I wouldn't apologize. Just make sure your snapping is righteous and you shouldn't feel any guilt or shame about it.

This isn't a hard thing to answer. If you use your critical thinking, and decide that the snap was unjustified on your end, apologize. If it wasn't unjustified, don't apologize.
