I'm gutted. I've had a best friend since I was 8 (now 29); we've been inseparable until recently and I would consider him closer than any of my family.

I want to clarify how much this guy means to me, about 5 years ago I was in a car accident, no permanent damage but I was in hospital 18 days, anyone who has ever been in an NHS hospital knows you have no TV, nothing, just the basics of keeping you alive. I was climbing the walls with boredom. He visited me 22x in 18 days, minimum once a day sometimes both evening and afternoon visit. He visited me more times than all of my immediate family combined. He did this all while in full time work (20 minute drive from the hospital, gave me his laptop full of movies etc and would download and put anything I asked on a pen drive and bring it with).

Bottom line he never had any siblings, didn't live with either of his parents. We have had a bond that has meant no matter what we have been there to support each other, if I needed to bury a body thats who I would call and I don't have anyone who will ever be that close, and honestly I don't think a lot of the world will ever have a relationship as close and strong as ours used to be.

It wasn't a one way street either, if he called me for any reason I would be there no matter what.

He is beta to the core, overweight (even though I try to encourage otherwise without being a dick about it, gym invites every time I go etc) Virgin until he was 27. I've given him nothing but Alpha advice whenever he needs or asks for it. I also tried to introduce him to trp recently, but he never really bought into it.

The Skank.

She used to orbit me, I have fucked her once but honestly she is well below my standards. She tried to make it happen again more than any chick I have ever had chase me. I would get drunken texts asking me to come fuck her almost weekly. She would send me FB messages, liked everything I ever post, every picture. Send me nudes without request.

She met my best friend through me and he has had a thing for her for a while, beta orbiter level. So she got with him and now they are semi serious. Every time we are out she tries to start conversations with me, flirt and honestly my best m8 is sitting there watching the whole thing and I can see it crushes him.

I want clarify I have done nothing but fuck this skank once and rebuffed everything since then.

So now my best m8 resents me for it. Its still in the early stages but in the last 3 months everything in our friendship has started changing. The worst part is before I knew how he felt I used to share nudes, and slag her in his presence.

I'm thinking about confronting him and telling him to sort his shit, because honestly he deserves effort from me, if we fall out I have no doubt I will never have anyone as close, ever.

Edit for clarity: We all met because I became friends with a chick through my work. She invited me to a flat warming and told me to bring any friends I could muster otherwise it would be a shit party. I brought my best m8 and two other friends. There was 10 at the party total. This is where I met said skank, as did my friend. This was about a year and a half ago. The party was actually amazing and we have made it a regular occurrence normally the same 8-9 people once a month. So we are in relatively regular contact

Tl;dr Best m8 has fallen in love with a chick who wants me bad and he resents me for it.
