What are the rules to this social game?

Has it ever led to the other male coming over to you and starting a fight? It kinda feels that way to me that if you do this social standoffish game incorrectly the other person could come over to you.

Reason I ask is i was just in the parking lot and this car with a guy and a gal goes past mine, a guy gets out and goes into little caesars to get some pizza and comes back out he notices me staring at him from my car with my shades on. he looks away then looks back and notices me still staring while i pull out of the parking lot.

am curious to other peoples stories/experiences with this game and how it can be incorporated into being an alpha male or is a snappy beta trait.
