I’ve struggled ever since I was a kid with my mental health. I’ve never been to therapy out of fear of being mocked, negatively labeled or even put in a psych ward for thinking suicidally. I used to just cover it up so people wouldn’t catch onto me. But once I got a bit older and moved out of my toxic depressing household I started taking steps to make myself better mentally and it definitely worked. But, life has really been shitting on me the last few years and Lately I’ve been really really low. Probably for the past 6 months I’ve been really bad and having suicidal thoughts very frequently. Several times I’ve been driving around at work and had the urge to drive off of a cliff and having to snap myself out of it. or just constantly telling myself in my head to kill myself, sometimes for a couple minutes sometimes hours sometimes all day. I’m not going to kill myself and I have a plan to pull myself out of my shit life I currently find myself in. I’m really just looking to get this shit off my chest. I don’t know that I’ve ever told anyone the extent of my mental state and definitely never told anyone about my suicidal thoughts. I smoke a pack a day, only drink on the weekends; sometimes one night sometimes both but I black out 9/10 times I drink, usually stay high on mj from the time I get home from work to the time I go to sleep. I usually lift and run and eat well, but lately not so much and I’ve probably lost 15-20 lbs over the past several months. Now at probably 6’2 160lbs. I haven’t weighed myself because I was more focused on the whole suicide thing. I honestly feel a lot better just getting it off my chest and I really appreciate this community. I can’t think of a friend, relative, professional or any other online place I would feel comfortable saying these things. I read through a lot of posts on asktrp about suicide and depression and the responses and support shown towards other people you don’t even know is pretty amazing. Any response to this is appreciated. Really just needed to get that out of my head.
