Dude....this was REALLY bad.

First of all, don't ever start a convo with "hope you're having an amazing day"... do you really hope they're having an amazing day? This comes off as beta as fuck to me.

Second, you rushed the fuck out of it.... a hi, a compliment, and a number ask. There is no generation of tingles here. Unless you're an absolute man-dime, you're not pulling shit like this.

Yeah you just went in guns blazing which was probably off putting to them and didn't generate any excitement.

Props for having the balls to approach two girls at the same time, but next time just make idle small talk and see what shit they are interested in doing outside the gym. THEN for their #'s.

I also avoid cold approaches at the gym.

I never approach at the gym; I consider it a temple. I have a hard enough time focusing on my workout without worrying about approaches.

Girl 1 is cock-blocking. I'd have stepped forward and rolled my shoulder in, symbolically screening girl 2 from the cockblocker and turning my back on her.

You really didn't fail, you were just too forward from the start. Like others said, you need to build some comfort first and then your outcome may have been different. "I hope you two are having an amazing day" gives off a creepy vibe.

You just came off to eager , I've done it before myself . you have to keep it casual like your making small talk and then spit a " let's hang out some time" . also I don't think you ask for both girls numbers , you pick one and ask her for hers or when they separate ask them both individually .

A for effort and all that jazz. first step is doing it , next step is fine-tuning it.

You didn't isolate. Which girl's number did you want? Asking for both in front of each other sends no ioi's, and can trigger asd.

"i have a boyfriend." put this into search here and read what pops up. Common shit-test. Many answers. I just ignore and continue as if she'd said something completely irrelevant.

Asking for a number right out of the gate is also a bit of chump move too imho. Isolate, escalate, then get a date/number.

Can tell you're new at this, so props for having the balls to do this approach in the first place.

They didn't know anything about you. If you had a brief chance to build some comfort first opposed to a superficial greeting "hope your day is going well!" it might have gone better. I'm a joke guy so I would have made some joke about something first to establish comfort and intelligence.

The gym is a place to work out. You must focus all your energy into that when you're there. Say hello to people and be friendly, but don't forget your purpose.
