Just wanted to share a bit of a story here and get some feedback. In an LTR and earlier in the week she brings up the point that valentine's day is Thursday (ignored mostly). Some bickering going on in the week about how Chinese girls expect things in relationships (A&A here as she tries to dread me). Conversation is back to v-day and how it's the man's job to take the girl out and treat her and blah blah. So I flip the script and say "where are you taking me for v-day dinner?"

I'm kind of being a dick and teasing her too much, but I'm also tired of her complaining and womanese hints about what I should be doing and how. We discussed early in the relationship I brought her flowers a few times (lilies picked from my yard) and because I'm not a total asshole, I grabbed some lilies today on my way home from work and dropped them off at her place. I get the text message "thanks for the flowers but next time can you get me a rose"

Slightly triggered... but I go with some A&A. "I said biiiiiiiiiiiiitch, what did we just argue about today... telling me what to do" "you get what you get" (accompanied with smiley faces to make the sarcasm obvious)

But it actually turned into this conversation... I know I'm not supposed to argue with women and this is something I want to discuss, but when you're triggered it's so hard to resist right?? Withdraw attention is the go to, but I can't! I pointed out to her earlier in the week that v-day is nothing special... another day. A commercial holiday with no real purpose. But young girls are stupid let's face it. They want/need the experience of romance. Forget everything else you do for them, the only thing that matters right now is what's coming up! I thought things were smoothed over with the romantic lily, but she had to point out that lilies are for funerals according to the internet. Fuck you girl! I didn't tell her to fuck off but I made it clear that a lily has whatever meaning I attach to it, because it came from me. She "understands" that, but she is trying to gently tell me that if I'm going to spend money, it should be on a rose because that symbolizes love. Now correct me if I'm wrong... but we are all our own men and we are in our frame and the world is as we frame it. Fuck the people that decided lilies were for funerals only, I tell her (side note, just searched and the second link says it's for love lol).

This didn't really have to turn into an argument, I could have just ignored and let it be and got her a rose whenever I felt like it. But I also wanted to make a point... I did something for her and it would be nice if she just appreciated it. I know I shouldn't really care and I don't that much. But it's the slight triggering that bothers me. I'm early on my red pill journey and I know where I stand. Would be nice to hear about other stories of triggering events and how they were dealt with (though I can already recall a bunch as I sit and recall stories I've read). I haven't really put any dread into this girl. My feeling now is that I haven't kept her in her place and this is why she acts out haha.

PS: I would have done a nice little dinner date with her (not an asshole). She didn't have to ask or say anything at all. I would have gladly treated her. But the way she has been talking/acting lately makes me want to do otherwise.
