For the past year I've noticed a lot of thinning on my head. I never really thought about when I would start losing my hair. Definitely wasn't expecting as early as 24. Appearently my father had a full head of hair until his mid 50s, my 2 brothers have full heads of hair. I'm the only family member that has been thinning.

So the question is;

Should I try to keep what I have or should I own up to the inevitability of being bald and get it cut?

I'd like to have a full head of hair, without the thinning spots. I feel like a such a loser with all the thinning areas visible. However, I haven't been shaven since I was 8 years old and that was because my mom made me, so I don't know how I'd feel about taking on the bald head.

I spoke to a doctor and he gave me the plain answer, "genetics." He offered me finasteride but I'm chicken about the side effects; especially the dick issues, so I turned it down.

Would you guys rather hold onto your locks and suffer possible side effects, or own the shiny head and keep your dick?
