I assume that self-esteem could be the biggest issue. To pull off a very attractive woman is a very different game. Usually, it helps to "train" on easier targets. It gives you a fallback base, a foundation. The trick is though, don't stick to it. If you start your journey with "below average" women, your confidence, ability to talk and general behavior will increase. You become more demanding. Then, when you meet your "out of league" woman, you built a better behavior, yet you will be nervose as hell, because it feels exciting to have reached your goal and you gain new experiences.
If you do it the other way, "out of league" women first, then the risk of damaging yourself in the long run increases, because if you get that girl, without further experience, you don't know how to handle an "out of league" woman in the long tearm. Maybe she will stop seeing you and you suffer oneities.
That's how I did it. I started with a woman that was easy to get, but had something (pole dance instructor / twerking teacher) I always wanted (stripper). I learned a lot from her behavior and later managed to get and stay with a woman that I had heavy oneities for. When we stopped seeing each other I just moved on. I also learned from her a lot. If I had it done the other way around, it probably would have crushed me.

I can't answer you this. If you can get a boner seeing her naked, why not start from there. Also if you want some form of desire and not fat wrapped around a pussy, just don't.
I would try to get a woman that has something cool, sexy, special to her. Something that makes you go neanderthal. If you already start thinking of maybe not going or being disgusted, then there is no reason why you should meet her.

Completely up to you. My test for minimum attraction is, how will I feel if I were walking with the chick on the street and a friend saw her? Would I be embarrassed because she's ugly? If the answer is yes then I pass. If they're just plain then I'm good to go.
