I read about frame but it seems there are more than one definition of it. Especially in the interaction department.
For example, I'm trying to see somebody from my past. Essentially, she agreed to see me and asked when I wanted to.
- "Yeah ok, when do you want to do this?"
- "I'm in town today so we could do it later or when are you free?"
- "I'm working tonight"
This is where I'm not sure my reply was the best but I don't feel like playing game. I understand her reply is usually considered as a complete lack of interest since she didn't offer any other times. Yet I genuinely want to see that person and talk to them to get some things straight. My reply:
"Not to sound off but I don't think we need to play that game. You can tell me when you're free. I'm off tomorrow or we could do it after your shift saturday."
Conversation was yesterday. Texted her that last night. I have not gotten a reply yet.
So is this considered breaking frame? From what I understand of guys gaming girl on here something like "That's nice, when are you free?" seemed like the more typical answer they'd go for. Am I missing something here?
Any advice on that or even my situation would be appreciated. Background for the story is I saw the girl for 2 months, regular sex, I had a dip in my depression and did something stupid/jealous and she broke it off. It's been a month since.
